Marlene Silverman, the editor of Landesmen pointed out in a letter received 4 August 2001 that Cyma was a member of my KIKMAN family. Her parents were named as Szlamy Herszkowicz (Solomon son of Hirsh) from Wyk and Jdki Pinchesowney from Wyk.

Marlene Silverman, the editor of Landsman magazine, in a letter dated 21 Aug 2001 speculates that Sara-Mariem Keiller was probably a cousin of Herszka.
Pinchas and Henoch are refered to on Abrams marriage interview with the United Synagogue
Herszka's first wife, Shoshona gave birth to children Chaika and Gitel. These are not substantiated.
Danielle Dorter stated in her family history project for school that:-
a) that Henry's father was 66 in 1879 when he was born. This is unlikely beause Abram-Szloma was a born in 1884 which would make him 71
b) a farmer
c) his mother was 27 yrs
d) Herska had two wives. This has now been confirmed by his second marriage certificate.
Elliot Ponchick calls Herszka by the name Hershal and gives him a birth year of 1820. If his father was Abram born in 1829 this is impossible. He also states death in 1923 making him 103

Marriages:
I have two birth certificates for children of Sura Leya that indicate that her birth year was either 1839 or 1843. It is therefore unlikely that she was the mother of Meyer who was born in 1892. I also have the marriage certificate for David that shows his mother as Laja Faiga TCHORZ who was deceased in in 1879. I also have verbal testimony from a descendant of Meyer, who does not want to be included on this site, that Meyer's mother's name was Miriam. I have therefore concluded that Szmuel Hersz had at three wives namely Laja Faiga who died before 1879, Sora Laja who died before 1892 and Miriam. If my asumptions are correct then Szmuel Hersz who was born in, or around, 1823 had his a son David at the age of 34 and was 69 when Myer was born. These ages are based upon his death certificate reporting the correct age of death. | ZAWADSKI Szmul Hersz (I2645)

Meyer purchased the tickets for Gitel and Fannie to come to America by opening an account with the Rosenbaum Bank on 24 July 1912 (i.e. nine days after Fannie was born which was probably as soon as he received a letter notifying him of her birth). The tickets were purchased from the Rosenbaum Steam Ship Company.

Mick FOX said that his father had told him the following:-
1)That he arrived in England when he was 16 with a brother who continued to the USA. From his approximate birth year this would have been about 1894. It is unclear if he was accompanied by his sister Sarah, who would have been 9 yrs old.
2) He arrived at Tower Bridge and that 6 or 7 people from the boat walked down Mansell Street.
3) He told Millie White that both his parents came from Michnitz (now called Myszyniec) in Poland
Name on Fanny's marriage certificate was Harris Fox
Bernie was present at his father's death
The 1911 Census shows Isaac, Millie, Sarah, Alfred and Polly STONE all born in Mishenits, Poland. In 2007 Mick FOX told me that his father was born in Myszyniec, Poland although the 1911 Census states that Henry FOX was German. Myszyniec, Mishenits, Mishenitz, Mishinyets and Mishnits are all the same shtetl which have a Jewish population of 600 in 1938.Essie STONE described herself as a cousin of Debbie Zerdin, who was the daughter of Sarah FOX who was Henry FOX's sister. This provides reasonable evidence that Myszyniec was, at least for a period of time, the home of the FOX family.

Millie WHITE said that at one stage Essie lived in Manchester. At a very young age she was engaged to a man who turned out to be a gambler with no money. The family made her break the engagement. In Manchester she adopted the name Stone when she worked for an anti-semitic firm that sold Liptons Tea. Whe she came to London she lived with Bunkie COHEN's mother until she was married. Millie thought that Essie would like to have married Bunkie but he was not interested although they remained good friends.
Essie was a cousin of Debbe Zerdin. The Jewish Chronicle insertions at the time of Debbe's death includes one from "Essie PEPPERMAN - Deborah's cousin"
There is no birth certificate under the name Esther Leah STONE for 13 January 1911. If Mille WHITE's comments above are correct then her name could be changed from a more foreign sounding name after her birth.
Address at time of marriage was 3 Sibley Grove, Leyton E12 | STONE Esther (I3234)
