- Marriage certificate gives name as Ryvka PRZEPIORKA and father's name spelt PRZEPIOKA. According to Alexander Beider's Dictionary of Jewish Surnames from Poland the first spelling is recognised. Martin's birth certificate shows the name as SHAPURKA. I believe that the registrar mis-heard the start of the name and wrote SHA instead of PRZE.
