Notes |
- Meyer purchased the tickets for Gitel and Fannie to come to America by opening an account with the Rosenbaum Bank on 24 July 1912 (i.e. nine days after Fannie was born which was probably as soon as he received a letter notifying him of her birth). The tickets were purchased from the Rosenbaum Steam Ship Company.
Gitel ZAWADSKY arrived in Baltimore, Maryland, USA on 12 September 1912 aboard the SS Main from Bremen, Germany together with her daughter Fannie. Source Ancestry.com Baltimore Passenger List 1820-1948
.
- Unless otherwise stated all information on this page comes from Gussie ZAWADSKY's naturalisation papers
- Gussie's naturalisation papers described her apperance as white with a fair complexion, eyes brown, height 5 feet 2 inches, weight 210lbs. Meyer stated her birth date as 15 March 1892. Gussie said that she was born 30 March 1892. I have assumed that this difference is based upon him using the Julian calender whilst she used the Gregorian calender.
- Gussie's maiden name varied on different documents. hese names are LENYART on her daughter Esther's marriage ceritificate.LISANYR on ??? LAMONIER and LEEMAN
Name:

LISANYR on ???.
LAMONIER which is the name on Leslie WELLISH's obituary. This is the name that I have taken.
LEEMAN was the name given to me by her grand-daughter
Died:
- Renee states that the detail on Gussie's death states "she was 61 and died at James Ewing Hospital (a division of whatis now the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center). The family member's name on her computerized cemetery record is "Samuel Juster" I assume that Juster is YUSTER.
Buried:
- Location provided by Mount Hebron Cemetery under a search of Zawadsky Gussie.
