Occupation: On Edna's birth certificate was described as general merchant's clerk. On Edna's marriage certificate Joe's occupation is shown as sewing machine dealer. It is my recollection that his brother-in-law owned a sewing machine company in City Road, Shorditch London.
Occupation: On his marriage certificate dated 4 March 1906 it gives his occupation as a Journeyman tailor however by 11 June 1907 he was a carman, by 29 March 1910 he was a confectionary warehouseman, 19 June he was a wood carver, 18 June 1919 a carman, 13 April 1920 a fish fryer, 18 February 1930 a fish salesman by 21 August 1932 he was a fishmonger. I always remember his as owning a fish and chip shop.
