This was bombed in WWII and he moved to temporary accomodation at 287 Victoria Park Road, Hackney on 28 July 1941 before buying a shop at 328 Cann Hall Road in October 1941.
- I have a poor photocopy of his Alien Registration Book no. 387800 issued at Leman Street London, E.1. on 2 October 1918. The document states that he arrived in England in 1901. It is amended to show Sarah's death and his remarriage to Jessie.
- Millie WHITE said that every Saturday evening she went to his fish and chip shop in Cassland Road and he fried her the most delicious whole haddock. She also remembers that he used to smoke haddock on the premises. Mick FOX also remembered going to Zlata and Shlomo for fried fish on a regular basis.
On his marriage certificate to Jessie has " the mark of Solomon KICKMAN" indicating he still could not sign his name. There is a 10 year error in his age on this certificate. His age was 48.
- ID Book descibes his appearance as stout with a brown moustache and brown eyes
