  The Latvian State Archive in May 2004 provided the follwing information:- According to the census for 1897 Boruch, his wife Esther and her father, a widower Haim, son of Elias Rabinowitsch, aged 77, born in Utsyany, his place of registration Utsyany, lived in Dvinsk at the corner of Bolotnaya and Zelenaya Streets, in the house of Degterev, apt. 6. . The 1897 First All Russian Census translated by Christine USDIN in April 2012 shows living on the corner of Bolotnya and Zelionaya Street in the house of Degterev apartment no. 6b the following:- ZHERDIN Borukh son of Movsha, a sub-tenant, age 28, place of birth Dvinsk, place of registration Dvinsk, a Jew, home language Yiddish that he can read and write, place of studies home occupation works in a butchery. ZHERDIN Esther re RABINOVICH daughter of Khaim, wife, place of birth Utziani, Kovno gub. place of registration Dvinsk, a Jew, home language Yiddish that she cannot read or write, occupation seamstress, employee RABINOVICH Khaim, son of Eliash, son-in-law, age 77 place of birth Utziani, Kovno gub, place of registration Utziani, Kovno gub a Jew, home language Yiddish that he can read and write, place of studies home supported by son-in-law.
