Juda (Judel), son of Shlioma Zherdin (Zerdin) was born in ca 1824-1825 in Dvinsk district (aged 34 in 1858, aged 50 in 1875, and aged 77 in the census for 1897. We would like to draw your attention to the fact that very often the age of person was determined by their outward appearance and was stated in some documents rather approximately. We suppose that revision lists give the most precise date of birth). He was registered in the Jewish community in Dvinsk at least since 1850. In the revision lists for 1858 the family of Juda Zherdin was registered together with the family of his relative Selik, son of Movsha Faib, born in ca 1820.
Judel's occupation was a butcher, he owned a butcher's shop.
His wife Haja-Feiga, daughter of Meyer (maiden name is not stated), born in ca 1826 in Novo-Alexandrovsk district (now Lithuania) (aged 32 in 1858, aged 56 in 1882, aged 75 in the census for 1897).
According to the family list for 1882 the family of Juda Zherdin lived in Dvinsk in their own house. According to the census for 1897 Judel and Haja-Feiga lived in Dvinsk at Podolskaya Street 62, apt.1a.
