On 19 January 1922 at the Mothers Hospital, Clapton, a boy Gooddy Reuben, son of Hyman HOFF, master butcher of 32 Burslem street, St. georges in the East and Leah HOFF formerly AMDUR
On the Birth Certificate there is a note that states:-
In Entry No.260 Cols 4 and 5 for HOFF read HOOF otherwise HOFF. Corrected on 21 August 1937 by me A.L.Brewer Superintendant Registrar on the production of a Statutory Declaration made by Leah HOOF.

On 21 November 1916 at Philpot Street Synagogue the marriage was solomnized between Hyman HOOF, age 24 years, bachelor, boot repairer, of 3 Queen Street, son of Harris HOOF (deceased) boot maker and Leah AMDUR, age 22 years, spinster, of 3 Queen Street, daughter of Samuel AMDUR, poultry dealer.
On the certificate it states "the mark of Hyman Hoof" indicating that he could not sign his name in English
