Notes |
- When Moszek's brother Meyer arrived in Philadelphia on 1 May 1912 he stated that he was going to join his brother Markus who had been here (i.e. America) for 5 years.
.
- In e-mails dated 22 and 23 February 2010 Renee Steinig (a researcher) provided details of a Max and Fanny ZAWADSKI on the 1930 US Census that are followed by a Benjamin and Betty SHILL with their son Samuel. It states that Betty, age 26 was born in England to Russian born parents.
It is possible that Betty is Elizabeth, whose Jerwish name was Pesie, and that Samuel was named after his grandfather.
- The Philadelphia bank Blitztein shows a Mordcha ZAWADSKY as a passenger and in July 1912 Rozenbaum Bank in Philadelphia shows tickets being purchased by M. ZAWADSKI for Fanie and Pessie LAWADZKI. The 1930 United States Federal Census shows Fannie arriving in America in 1913.
