- In an e-mail dated 18th October 2013 Tantara Fox-Stillwell wrote"My Grandpa had told my mum many times that the Factory he and his brothers established made clothing for Harrods and Marks and Spencer's. He also had association with the Cray Twins and Alan Sugar and he was a member of the British Boxing Federation. Growing up my mum remembered him having a chauffeur who would drive him to London everyday.
I am told he was a great singer and he always said he was in the entertainment core of the army , my mum said she is not sure how true that was .
My granpa moved to cyprus the last years of his life as he only retired when he was 74 ,and spent 4 years in Cyprus until his health
deteriorated and he returned to the uk and passed away two years later .
He was laid to rest in the Jewish section of Hove cemetery in Sussex."

On 27 May 1918 at 66 Nelson Street, a boy, Jacob, son of Henry FOX, a caretaker of 66 Nelson Street and Becky FOX formerly YUSS.

I have puzzled for a long time before accepting that this was Jacob's birth certificate because of the mother's maiden name. Everything apart from this fact agrees with the other vital records in my possession together with the fact that Jacob's grandaughter, with Maureen Williams was named Rebecca Lana. My conclusion is that when Henry was registering the birth he gave his wife's name as Becky FOX and when the Registrar asked for Becky's former name Henry did not understand the word "former" and said "yuss" meaning that Becky was her name. It is the only explaination that I can construct.
