  In May 2004 the Latvian State Historic Archive wrote that he belonged to the Rezekne Jewish Community. Name: There are many different spellings of the surname. The only document located, Hirsh's death entry in the Registry, has been translated with the name as KADESH.

  [S08506] Death certificate, Valaklani Registry 1878 Page 34 male entry no. 10 (Reliability: 2). On 10 April/22 April 1878 in Varaklanu KADESH Hirsh, son of Shabsa, age 75, died of old age. He was originally from Rezekne N.B. The date in the Registry is from the Julian calender. The Gregorian calender is 12 days later. Discovered and translated by Christine Usdin January 2010
