- I located Allen from a picture of Irene that had the following information on the back:-
American Airforce number T-127818, 335th Bomb squadron, 95th bomb group, A.P.O 559 U.S. Army.
The 95th Bomb group based was in Horham, Norfolk, England.
In an e-mail dated 2 May 2003 Jon Pearson, Secretary of the Eighth Air Force Historical Society states:-
Allen B Kodish was killed in action on 20 January 1945 ( missing air crew report MACR 11755 ) after a crash near Hirtzfelden, Germany, on mission to Mannheim in aircraft (B-17G) 43-38660 piloted Lt. Aaron C. Conover. Four were killed in action and six were taken as prisoners of war.
Ben Feireman said that he attended Allen's funeral and that they could not seperate Allen's body from that of a Catholic airman consequently the burial service was carried out by a Rabbi and a Catholic Priest. The stone states
