  Kikman family KH 2388 Landsmen Publication volume 6 number 1 page 53 1848 entry 13. The entry for Abram KIKMAN c.f KAUFMAN. It shows Abram son of Szlama who was son of Hersz.

  
  

• Notes

  Hersz is the progenitor of my KIKMAN family. The oldest record, that I can trace for this branch of my ancestors is Cyma KIKMAN's birth certificate. That document refers to her father and, because of patrynomics, her grandfather, Hersz. Name: Hersz lived prior to Jewish people having surnames. Therefore the name Kikman has been given to him by me in order to identify the branch of the family to which he belongs.

  [S08506] Death certificate. Hersz son's name on his death certificate is Szlama Herszkowicz which translates as Szlama son of Hersz. This is the only information regarding our earliest known Kikman ancestor [S23535] Landsman, Vol. 6 No. 1 Summer 1996 Page 53 (Reliability: 1).
