- [S1] E-mail, From Cynthia Kaufman Noble, 17 Mar 2018.
Here is what I can tell you about this line. My grandfather is Avrum (changed to Abraham) Kaufman. He was born in September of 1901, in Zvonia, Bialoystok, Poland-Russia.
He came to the US through Cuba, and entered in Key West on August 30, 1921. He married my grandmother Rose (I was told they were also cousins and believed until I saw your list that her maiden name was also Kaufman) on May 15, 1923 according to his Naturalization papers. I did find a marriage entry for the state NY that if it is the correct one, that listed Rose?s name as Kikman. According to NY census, he and Rose had his mother living with them and her name was Channah. I was their first female grandchild and I was named after her. Abraham died in May of 1960 when I was six months old due to a heart condition. He worked as a cutter in the garment district. He had a number of brothers and a sister. The names I was given in addition to Jonah were Schlinka,
