- Evacuated during WW11 to Aston Clinton when she was pregnant with Adrienne.
Polly was a member of Boundary Road Synagogues Ladies Guild.
I always remember Polly as the matriarch of the Zerdin family. From a small terraced house in Leyton she catered Sedar nights for the family and entertained people in the traditional Jewish way. I do not think I ever went to her house, even if I dropped in when passing, not to be greated by her cooking. Her apple cake was exceptional and her stuffed kenadalach were absolutely amazing. KZ

- NOTE: ADRIENNE STATED THAT HER MOTHER DIED IN WHIPPS CROSS HOSPITAL. THE DEATH CERTIFICATE COMPLETED BY HER BROTHER STATED THAT SHE DIED AT HOME.
