On 21 November 1916 at Philpot Street Synagogue the marriage was solomnized between Hyman HOOF, age 24 years, bachelor, boot repairer, of 3 Queen Street, son of Harris HOOF (deceased) boot maker and Leah AMDUR, age 22 years, spinster, of 3 Queen Street, daughter of Samuel AMDUR, poultry dealer. On the certificate it states "the mark of Hyman Hoof" indicating that he could not sign his name in English
