      It happened in the town of Nowogrod on 15 December / 27 December 1848 at 3 p.m. He appeared the Jew Eliasz Wolfowicz URWICZ, Rabbi of the town of Nowogrod, resident of Nowogrod, together with the Jew Abram Szlomowicz KIKMAN, bachelor, age 19, born in the village of Chmielowo in the district of Nowogrod, son of Szlama and Idka Pisachowna family Herszkowicz KIKMAN, both already deceased tailors by trade, residents of the village of Chmielewo and the Jewish woman, Bajla Moszkowna, maiden, 17 years old, daughter of Moszek, still living, and the already deceased Ruchla Szlamowicz family OLSZEWICZ, living together with her father in the village of Wlok (possibly Wyk)born in the village Chm? (possibly Chmeilowo) and announced in the presence of the witnesses, the Jews, Herszek Jankielowicz MIGDALOWICZ, age 40 and Lejba Mayerowicz ROTZYLD, age 30, both residents of the village of Nowogrod and tailors by profession, that today in front of him a religoud marriage had been concluded between Abram Szlomowicz KIKMAN and Bajla Moszkowna OLSZWICZ. The marriage was preceeded by three announcements published in the Synagogue of Nowogrod on the Sabbath days 9, 16 and 23 December this year. No reservations towards the marriage were registered. The verbal permission for the marriage was of the mewly-weds. They declared that no marriage agreement had been concluded.
      Then the document was read to the clients and signed by the Rabbi, the witnesses and us, the Clerk of the Civil Administration. The newly-weds declared that they were illiterate
