Notes |
Name:
- the suffix -owicz means son of
- It is probable that the KELER family is the same as the KELLER and KEILER family of future generations. At the time of Zelik's birth Jewish people in Poland did not have surnames. The Jewish naming system would have been Pinchus ben Zelik (Pinchus son of Zelik). The Polish name Pinchus Zelikowicz means Pinchus son of Zelik. The surname KELER has been added for clarity as to the family line being followed and to bring his name in line with modern practice.
