- In May 2004 the Latvian State Historic Archive wrote that he lived at 26 Blaumana Street Riga and from 1936 was a ritual slaughterer in Aluksne. The book Latvia Synagogues and Rabbis 1918-1940 states that he graduated from the Jewish seminary and became a ritual slaughterer.
