- The first photograph above is dated 4 December 1937 and was printed in Riga, Latvia. The Yiddish on the rear of the card has been translated as follows:-
"To the memory of my friends I am sending this card.
Sent from your nephew Hanoch and my wife Ella. To our emmigration to Eretz Yisroel "
According to Gerald Caiden's notes Hanoch lived in Riga before marriage and made "aliya" to Israel in 1934.
The Latvia State Historical Archive records that they left for Palestine on 30 December 1930.

- My Heritage includes the Mandatory Palestine Naturalization Applications 1937-1937. amongst these applications was Genechs MEDNICOVS.
The Certificate of Naturalization was granted on 29th November 1940 no. 41448 for Application no. 67671.
The Naturalization includes his wife Elka maiden name WAINER and their daughter Rina born 15 March 1936.
